Short Stories

I've been writing short stories for longer than I can remember. A mainstay in creative writing workshops, I've honed my craft and learned how to create the most effective story in a limited amount of space.

Creative Nonfiction

There's an old saying that says to “write what you know.” I took those words to heart. Whether it be a retelling of motorsport's past or analyzing the complex web of factors at play in my own life, creating a narrative out of reality has become a favorite genre of mine.

Thesis and Novels

Both my undergraduate and graduate degrees require a creative thesis—a publishable novel or novella—to complete the program. Through them, I've learned how to push myself within the confines of a limited amount of time (one semester in the first case, two years in the latter). For me, time doesn't negatively impact my direction. It serves as motivation, a way to completely immerse myself in my writing.
